Program Note:

Night Tour is a loosely programmatic work based on the unforgettable experience of visiting the Lincoln Memorial at night. The work is structured around prominent lines in piano and the flute duet which are gradually developed through layering and modulation. After a brief climax, the orchestra pauses to crescendo again into a moment of sublimity. The piece ends with a gently oscillating harmony and layered reiterations of the theme.
